JOEY RAMONE BIRTHDAY BASH 2014:

I was really, really, really happy to see many old friends and meet for the first time people who I have known through internet. You can see some of them in this page and in page 5.
Before going to The Bowery Electric I was having great time at The Manitoba's with Joe Finnegan, Lin, P.J. McGowan, Anu Aaltonen, Ilkka Aaltonen etc. It is funny that you have known person for a long time but can't remember his or her name. Like I have met and spoke 5-8 times with a man who has Sic F*cks T-shirt in these fan photos. Please inform your name if you read this or some other knows his name.

In a photo in a middle you can see John Holmstrom and great and friendly fans: Lin and from Argentina Javier Goyogana, Gota Supergota and his girlfriend Bruna Lodi and Sapo Ramone.

John Holmstrom was main man behind of creating Punk magazine in 1975. Legs McNeil was second man. Punk published 17 issues between 1976 and 1979, one special issue in 1981 and few in 2000's. There were lot material related to the Ramones. And now you has chance to read and see lot material from book
The Best of Punk Magazine
Read my interview with John Holmstrom here.

In previous page, page 3, has photos of The Bullys on stage. Here in first photo you can see gentlemen Evil Presly and Willy B of The Independents. When I was thinking who were today at The Bowery Electric, especially Andy Shernoff, Mickey Leigh, Evil Presly, Willy B and The Bullys, I was remembering to few fans days when Joey Ramone was still here... Here are few quotes from my first book Heaven Needed A Lead Singer: Fans Remember Joey Ramone, which you can also find on Interpunk here. Joey Ramone's Christmas Bash was at The Continental on December 11, 2000 and Evil Presly's birthday party at Manitoba's on December 12, 2000. Those were Joey Ramone's final performances. Here are few quotes from text Sherry Globman wrote to Heaven Needed A Lead Singer: Fans Remember Joey Ramone:
December 11: "It was time for Joey Ramone to do his long awaited set. Backed by Ronnie Spector's back up singers as well as Marky Ramone on drums, and Daniel Rey and Andy Shernoff, Joey and his band of all-stars played a rockin' set of classic Ramones songs as well as Christmas songs like Merry Christmas (I Don't Want to Fight Tonight). Part way through the set, Willy B, Travis T and Evil Presly of The Independents joined their friend Joey on stage to complete the set.. but not before Jerry Only of The Misfits made a surprise appearance to support the already jam-packed stage of rockers. This amazing group performed such songs as I Wanna Be Sedated, Beat On The Brat and Blitzkrieg Bop which no doubt kept the wall to wall crowd jumping with excitement till Joey said his good-bye's at the end of the awesome set.", wrote Sherry Globman.

The Bullys followed Joey's set and became the last band to perform at one of his events...
