JOEY RAMONE BIRTHDAY BASH 2014:
These photos here on page six were sent to me from Argentinean fan Sapo Ramone. Photos were taken by his friends. It was great Joey's brother Mickey Leigh again asked people jump on stage when set of Joey Ramone Friends was ending.
As I did write in first page, this was first year when any Ramones member did not play at the Joey Ramone Birthday Bash. Tommy Ramone, CJ Ramone and Richie Ramone confirmed to me in advance they wont attend show. CJ was touring. Marky Ramone do not want to support Joey Ramone Birthday Bash.
I don't count Clem Burke, aka Elvis Ramone, being real Ramones member. But he was at the Joey Ramone Birthday Bash 2014, see photo lowest photo on this page. Clem Burke played two gigs after the Richie Ramone quit in 1987, at The Living Room in Providence in August 28 and in Trenton in August 29. Clem used then name Elvis Ramone. Clem is great drummer, but his drumming style wasn't right for The Ramones.
Sapo had asked from Clem why he didn't play any song at the Joey Ramone Birthday Bash?:
"Nobody's asked me ", told Clem to Sapo.
Sapo also had asked one question from Johnny Ramone's wife Linda.
Are you and Mickey solved the "differences" between each other?
"No!", said Linda to Sapo.
I did not met with Clem. It was a great surprise Linda did attend event with his boyfriend. This time I spoke with Linda only briefly. Maria Montoya-Kaye and I did five pages long interview with Linda to my third book Ramones: Soundtrack Of Our Lives. It was first long interview Linda had ever given. Linda and I were met for the first time in 2005. Also Linda then asked me to come to the restaurant with her and her friend Sandy Linter in New York.
In a photo in a middle you can see Linda with Ramones' tour manager Monte Melnick and famous photographer Bob Gruen. Gruen had taken lot famous photos of the Ramones already in 1975-76. And of the Ramones member(s) with other people, like photo of Joey and Alice Cooper together in 1990, of Joey, Dee Dee and Joan Jett together in 1993, of Dee Dee together with David Johansen, Lenny Kaye and Andy Paley together at CBGB's in 1977. etc. etc.
Monte Melnick wrote with Frank Meyer really great book titled On The Road With The Ramones. First edition got published in 2003. Buy it from here. Frank collected to it also lot material from my page.
So you got chance to read lot information from Joey Ramone Birthday Bash 2014 and background information of many things and people. I am happy I again archived what did happen then. Probably any other people again didn't archived these things this widely.
