BY MARKY RAMONE ON APRIL 9, 2009:
Marky Ramone wrote this after they had three shows in Japan. Beside of
Marky Ramones Blitzkrieg, for example Bad Religion, The Damned, NOFX,
Rise Against and Oreskaband were playing at the Punkspring festival in
Tokyo.
Marky Ramones Blitzkrieg's three shows in Japan were:
April 3, 2009, Zepp Nagoya, Nagoya, Japan.
April 4, 2009, Zepp Osaka, Osaka, Japan.
April 5, 2009, Punkspring festival, Tokyo, Japan.
Ramones in Rolling Stone Cover in Japan
Joey Ramone, Johnny Ramone, CJ Ramone and Marky Ramone got a cover in
the Rolling Stone mag in Japan in April, 2009.
"Marky Ramone is very happy that the Ramones are at last on the front
cover of the Rolling Stone magazine. He would have prefered that they
were on the cover while the rest of the guys were alive, but
thanks to
his new clothing line in association with Hilfiger Denim, and the fact
he is touring Japan at the moment with his new band Marky Ramones
Blitzkrieg, they are on the cover at last..., for the first time. There
are features inside both on the Ramones, and on Marky's new clothing
line.
Stay tuned for footage from the signings in the Tommy Hilfiger stores in
Japan..., both in Osaka and Tokyo. Thanks to everyone who showed up and
the Japanese fanclub for all their support. If you are in Tokyo, make
sure you dont miss the exclusive fan show at the Rolling Stone Cafe that
Marky Ramones Blitzkrieg are playing on the 6th April. Get there
early..., entrance is free but there are only limited places. Doors are
at 7pm but it is recomended that you get there much earlier to make sure
that you get in.
The Punkspring Festival shows were a great success... Marky Ramones
Blitzkrieg look forward to returning to Japan soon for a headline tour
and wish to thank all the fans that showed up and were so entusiastic
with their support. Thanks also to Creative Man for making it possible
for the 20,000 punk fans to see Marky Ramones Blitzkrieg in Tokyo. This
show will be broadcast on Japanese television soon. Dee Dee, Joey and
Johnny would have been proud. The Hey Ho Lets Go before the band went on
stage was deafening. All of the merchandise sold out thanks to you guys.
Michale Graves Kicked ass and Alex and Clare also did a great job.
Marky Ramone."
BY MARKY RAMONE ON MARCH 9, 2009. AFTER MARKY RAMONE'S
BLITZKRIEG LINE-UP AND THEIR STAFF HAD DANGEROUS SITUATION CONCERNING
SHOW IN NEZA, MEXICO ON MARCH 7, 2009. NEZA IS VERY DANGEROUS
ZONE:
" Mexico City show cancelled sunday.
Everyone's ok, but things got way over the top concerning the safety of
the band and out of hand for Marky and The Blitzkrieg at last night's
show in Mexico. The van taking the band back to the hotel was besieged
by fans resulting in an injury to one of the touring party protecting
the exiting band. The security at the venue did their best, but were
overwhelmed by the numbers and intensity of the situation. They had
never had to deal with anything like that before.
In trying to leave the venue, there was a pile up at the exit door as
fans rushed to Marky on his attempted exit. Surrounded by over zealous
fans pounding on the windows of the band van, cracking the windshield,
one fan clinging to the side of the vehicle was thrown into on coming
traffic. He was ok as later he and a friend eventually caught up with
the van in a taxi shouting and waving at their hero.
If anyone owns Marky's DVD RAW from where the band were besieged by fans
in Argentina, picture that but many times worse. It was a life
threatening situation.
Sunday's show was meant to be in a larger venue, in a dangerous area
with only the same amount of security as was not able to handle the
scene at Saturday's show. In the interests of everyone's safety and well
being, it has been decided that Sunday's show in Mexico City will not go
forward.
Marky apologies to all his fans in Mexico City and says he's really
enjoyed everything about the shows except the idea anyone getting hurt.
He promises to come back with The Blitzkrieg soon under safer
circumstances for everyone involved."
BY MARKY RAMONE IN MARCH, 2008, AFTER HE PLAYED AT
DESERT ROCK FESTIVAL IN DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES. ALSO IN THIS
FESTIVAL WERE PLAYING FOR EXAMPLE VELVET REVOLVER, MACHINE HEAD, MUSE
AND KORN.
"Dubai is the future city of the world and the show couldn't have been
any better. Thank you for all the fans in Dubai who loved the Ramones
set that I played there. It seems to be spreading all over the world.
Thanks to you guys and girls out there. I will keep the legacy
alive. Marky Ramone"
BY MARKY RAMONE IN OCTOBER, 2007, AFTER HE WAS
PLAYED AT THE BEIJING POP FESTIVAL IN SEPTEMBER, 2007 (YOU CAN READ REVIEW
AND SEE SOME PHOTOS OF THE SHOW HERE):
"To all my friends and fans, the Beijing Pop Festival in China was a
milestone in musical history there. Besides myself playing there, there
were other cool bands playing there like Public Enemy who asked me to
do Blitzkrieg Bop with them, which kicked ass, Nine Inch Nails, the
New York Dolls, and a lot of great Chinese Rock bands, and Chinese
Rocker Cui Jian.
The crowd was singing along to all Ramones songs which was a great
feeling. Punk is alive and well everywhere. The crew was top notch. The
hotel was a constant party place 24 hours non-stop. I suggest any band
that wants to expand their horizons go to China. It's unbelievable.
Can't wait to go back.
Love you all, the legacy lives on thanks to you all. -
Marky"
BY MARKY RAMONE IN FEBRUARY, 2007:
"2006 was a great year for myself, my friends and fans. From the looks
of things, 2007 will be even better. A lot of things are happening down
the road. There will be touring to continue the Ramones legacy alive
around the world. I will continue to play the music my fans love on my
radio show The Punk Rock Blitzkrieg on Sirius Satellite
Radio. I will continue to make guest appearances at venues all
over the world. Also, my book which is in the process of being finished
will contain many surprises for all my friends and fans. The name wont'
be called Faith In The Backbeat as previously announced, the working
title will be announced soon. Again, thanks to all my friends for making
2006 one of the best years. Your friend,
- Marky
BY MARKY RAMONE ON AUGUST 3, 2006
We arrived in Rome in early July, thrilled when Italy won The World Cup
and Rome became one huge party. Wednesday we played the Azzerzo Wave Music
Festival. It was great to play in front of a lot of old and new Ramones
fans there. The next day we played at "Rockaway" in Porto Potenza Picena
which was opened by Henry, a 20 year veteran of the Italian Fan Club, its
kind of like a Hard Rock only full of unique Ramones memorabilia. It was a
special party for Ramones packed with the help from The Black Devils Motor
Cycle Club. Before we had a very special 15 course fish at the restaurant
La Veccazza . It was definitely the best seafood anywhere. Friday was the
Marcon Music Festival. It was the third and final show in Italy again a
packed crowd and a great outdoor party. The last day in Italy we spent in
Venice on a boat sightseeing all the great canals and the Lido. Dinner was
another feast at the winery Cantina San Martino. Our great host Giovanni
had a night of great surprises and we will never forget what a special
time we had there.
Next we flew to Aberdeen in Scotland. This is a great
city way up by the North Pole, which meant the weather was nice and cool
and it hardly got dark at all at night. The show was a lot of fun in a
club right near the beach. The next show was in Dundee and was great too.
Then we played at the Wickerman Festival. This festival started about 6
years ago taking its theme from the Wickerman film. At the end of the 2
day festival they set on fire an 80ft straw Wickerman. There were about
20,000 people there and every year it keeps getting larger. Which is not
surprising. We had a special guest sing Happy Family --Philip, the Arch
Duke of Austria, who has been a fan since he was a kid.
Then it was on to
Spain for another festival outside of Barcelona and finally the last show
was in Barcelona with the Queers backing up me and David for a really cool
Ramones set. Throughout August, I will be seeing all my fans in Brazil,
Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay. Later this Fall I'll be playing live on
tour with Osaka Popstar so look for more info on that coming soon. Fans of
my radio show will be glad to know that I've renewed my option with Sirius
Satellite Radio for another full year of Marky Ramone's Punk Rock
Blitzkrieg. SEE YA.

MARKY RAMONE WROTE ON OCTOBER 17, 2005
In my opinion, I think David Frey - the Ramones Production manager - has
been doing a wonderful job, concerning the estates of Joey, Johnny, Dee
Dee, and the surviving Ramones. This is very rare in this
business, to find someone who has to balance such a monumental task. Yes
it was hard to get use to in the beginning. Sometimes you get settled in
your ways and you never know what to expect. Sometimes I question things
(which is my nature). But, things have been better than ever in the
Ramones camp. Mickey Leigh, Joey's brother, and Linda Ramone (hey, we got
a girl in the band!) are closer than ever -and I've spent more time with
Tommy than ever before.
Of course when a company restructures, there is doubt where it's going to
go. This time everyone is very satisfied with their freedom to do what
they want, Tommy and I still have the rights to our names. We get a
generous cut from the merchandise that's all over the place. And, we
always have and always will get, our royalties and publishing. I'm glad to
say Rob Zombie's npwon board to help make things go even smoother. Rob was
Johnny's friend until he succumbed to cancer. Linda felt this was a good
choice because of his devotion to Johnny. Again, I don't think we could
have found someone as good as David Frey. And one other thing: No one is
holding anyone hostage to do what they want. It's just that 5 heads are
better than one. Opinions, and criticisims are helpful to maintain a
continuous flow of quality Ramones product for you guys.
MARKY RAMONE WROTE ON JUNE 17, 2005:
"Again I read that the Misfits adds are saying my name on
it too, please tell: Marky Ramone quit The Misfits two months ago and
chose not to
do this u.k. tour with Jerry Only and Dez Cadena. So I'm not touring with
the Misfits anymore.
MARKY RAMONE WROTE IN LATE MARCH + UPDATED IN EARLY MAY,
2005:
As you know, I have been playing with Jerry Only from The Misfits and Dez
from Black Flag, but I've decided that four years is enough. The last
shows were in April. I will be doing other
things on my own, mainly Ramones related business; I will finish my book,
and I will be a DJ on Sirius Radio. I want to thank again, everyone who
has made RAW-DVD and End Of The Century movie a great success. Ramones
Raw just won the 2005 music video for best features, and continues to
multiply in sales thanks to all you dedicated new (and older) loyal
Ramoniacs. End Of The Century DVD is selling like hot cakes, too. The
Ramones legend is unstoppable.
I will be
seeing you soon, with my own band. I give Jerry and Dez the best of
luck. I'd love to see the original Misfts get back together again. I
think that would be a real treat for the die-hard Misfits fans.
I was with Tony Hawk on his show called Faction, on Sirius Radio. It was
a lot of fun, he's a cool guy, and he's the champ. He was
very interested in the Ramones skateboards that are coming out. Also, the
phone ins were hysterical, I had a blast. Sirius is definitely the future.
MESSAGE FROM MARKY RAMONE ON MARCH 10, 2005:
The shows I just did in Mexico confirmed that it's one of the coolest
places to play, especially the Hard Rock in Mexico City. Every city
rocked, as I took the band that I am doing my tribute to Johnny, Dee Dee
and Joey with. A lot of kids never saw the Ramones - but, who else knows
it better than I do, since I played so long with them! Doing this is a lot
of fun, and it provides fun for Ramones fans. I will be doing this for a
while, so you won't miss out. There's nothing like playing the songs that
put us into the Rock N' Roll Hall Of Fame. And if it wasn't for you guys
this couldn't have happened - the Ramones fans are the greatest.
Other news: I recorded a show in Mexico with some friends last year, which
came out great. I will be putting this out as my tribute; 17 songs, and a
DVD, it will be called "Live Down Mexico Way." And stay tuned for End of
the Century which will be in the stores soon on DVD. Well, off to Japan to
play a festival. see ya soon.
YOURS FOREVER, MARKY RAMONE.
MESSAGE FROM MARKY RAMONE ON FEBRUARY 20, 2005:
Just got back from a European and South American tour. I want to say a
few words: I want to thank TARAKANY for backing me on the European dates
I just did. What a band, and of course the shows in South America with a
combined total of 25,000 people were amazing.
I could not do the last shows in Argentina due to a fire in another
venue, weeks before I arrived there. The government stopped the show in
advance, fearing that the same thing could happen at the venue I was going
to play there. I will come back to Argentina and do the shows as soon as
possible. Also, the autograph signing in Argentina had to be stopped in
advance, because of the amount of people blocking traffic. I apologize to
everyone who was waiting, and to the friends and fans who bought tickets
for the last show in Argentina.
One more thing: I do not have control over ticket prices, they were set
by the promoter. Sorry for all the craziness, but what a tour!"
MESSAGE FROM MARKY RAMONE ON JANUARY 22, 2005:
Now after Joey getting a street named after him in NYC and Johnny statue
in LA, now what we should concentrate on, is a memorial for the great Dee
Dee Ramone, who wrote half of the groups hits and was considered the Paul
McCartney of the Ramones. I'll visit Johnny's and Dee Dee's gravesites in
mid February alone. I'm glad to see that this memorial was done and now
it's time to celebrate life, long live the legacy of the Ramones around
the world forever. - Marky Ramone -
(OBS! MARKY WROTE TO ME MANY INFORMATION LETTERS AFTER MARCH 16, 2004, BUT
I INFORMED THEM ONLY IN MY FRONT PAGE. FORGOT TO ADD THEM HERE)
MARKY'S MESSAGE ON MARCH 16, 2004:
(Base of this letter is posted to Ramones.com also)
I was out to Los Angeles to complete the commentaries involving
the new Ramones DVD (Jari-Pekka's note: "Ramones: Around The World Part
2") - I and Johnny Ramone finished together the commentary over the DVD.
I saw the finished version, and what a surprise! The
new footage is fantastic. It will be out on Image, the reputable video
giant. This will be the first legitamate DVD out in the United States and
Europe, Japan etc. I want to thank John Cafiero for producing, directing
and editing the DVD as well as providing the art direction for the DVD
packaging. The release date will be in July 2004, the title will be called
RAW. A lot of Dee Dee, Joey, Johnny, and C.J.
I will also put out my Spoken word on DVD soon, we are working on this on
my Spoken word tour coming up of Europe. I play with two members of the
U.K. Subs, doing the songs you as Ramone fans want to hear. This will be
part of my spoken word show. Will see you there. See ya soon.
The tours in Greece, Italy, Spain and the 3 shows in the London area were
kick ass, again it's amazing to see all the older fans and friends
mingling with the younger fans - there isn't any generation gap at these
shows. You guys are the reason I continue touring, it was great! I will
be going to Australia soon, possibly in May, to do 4 shows of my spoken
word. Well that's it for now, again you guys and girls were wonderful.
Check here
Marky's Spoken word dates.
Gabba Gabba Hey, MARKY RAMONE.
MARKY'S MESSAGE ON FEBRUARY 4, 2004:
- The shows in Costa Rica and Mexico were great. Due to the huge turn out
of
Ramones fans. I heard "Hey Ho, Let's Go" after each encore. Which I was
very happy for. One show was ruined by the Dead Kennedys because they
didn't have Jello Biafra. The 3 000 fans out of the 4 000 fans that we had
created a riot. So we couldn't play. That was the only down side of the
tour. I want to thank all the Ramones fans that showed up. Thanks for the
Hey Ho Let's Go's . You were great. Now I will do a tour of Europe with
Jerry Only and Dez Cadena. See you soon,
Marky Ramone.
MARKY'S MESSAGE ON JANUARY 22, 2004:
The Rock'N'roll Hall Of Fame inductee Marky Ramone tells.
- I want to thank all the friends and fans who came to the 2 shows I did
in Ohio and Detroit, the age group ranged from 14 years old and up. We had
fun doing just Ramones songs, for a few shows out of the year, I will go
to a different city or country and have fun just doing Ramones songs, it
gives me a lot of pleasure. And it's cool when the fans sing along to
every song. Thanks for the fun. Also I will be doing with Jerry Only from
the Misfits and Dez Cadena now shows in Mexico and Europe in January and
February, 2004. And yes, we do Ramones songs, too!, says Marky.

On a Ramones note Ramones Around The World Part 2 will be finished January
25, 2004 and released late spring.
- New video is called Raw, footage mostly from my video library.
Marky's California tour was canceled because the guitar player got food
poisoning, it could be mad cow disease. Marky hope he gets
better.
Marky says that there will be no next Marky Ramone & The SpeedKings tour
until the new SpeedKings album comes out. Album is already
recorded.
- Also I will be doing a spoken word tour and shows with 2 members from
The U.K. Subs, I want to thank the great response I got from my friends
and fans about the last tour I did in England.
Marky is also still writing his book.
- My book is half done. It will only be written by me. No secondary here
says from people who had nothing to do with the Ramones inner circle.
They just wanted their 15 minutes of fame, explain Marky.
