Osaka Popstar is helmed by John Cafiero. Original line-up had Cafiero on vocals, Marky Ramone on drums, Jerry Only (The Misfits etc.) on bass, Dez Cadena (Black Flag/ Ex-The Misfits) on guitar and Ivan Julian (Richard Hell & The Voidoids) on guitar. They released Osaka Popstar And The American Legends Of Punk album in 2006. Marky, Jerry, Dez and Ivan left soon Osaka Popstar. Read story of my trip to see Osaka Popstar and The Misfits in 2006.

12' split maxi-single titled Weird Al Yankovic & Osaka Popstar: Beat On The Brat is Black Friday 2021 release. Original Osaka Popstar line-up plays in three live songs on B-side. Those Ramones songs Beat On The Brat, Blitzkrieg Bop and The KKK Took My Baby Away.
Those three songs are from an live CDEP titled Rock'Em O-Sock'Em Live!. Line-up on those live songs is Marky Ramone, John Cafiero, Jerry Only, Dez Cadena and Ivan Julian. All songs are recorded on Halloween night (October 31, 2006) at the Starland Ballroom, Sayerville, NJ, USA.
First song on B-side is a new studio version of Beat On The Brat by John Cafiero and his new line-up.
Weird Al Yankovic is Osaka Popstar's guest on A-side where he sing main vocals and plays accordion on Beat On The Brat (studio version). Then there are live versions of Beat On The Brat and I Wanna Be Sedated by Weird Al Yankovic and his band. Those two live songs are recorded in 2018.
