  • MCRACKINS: Too Tough To Die

I WAS REALLY WAITING MCRACKIN'S VERSION OF THE TOO TOUGH TO DIE.
CHECK OUT MY REVIEW OF IT.

Here is greetings from Bil Mcrackin.

Hi, this is Bil McRackin from the McRackins in Canada. We have just finished recording "too tough to die" to be released on clearview records later this year. We had a great time recording the album, it brought back a lot of memories for me. I still remember the day i got that album. I was in the 8th grade and a girlfriend of mine gave it to me for my birthday. It is definetly one of their more overlooked records but there is still some great songs on it.

GENERAL INFO OF THESE CLEARVIEWS RAMONES COVERS

On these albums bands are playing songs on same orden than Ramones released their own. These bands are from United States:
These are limited editions: 1700 and released only by vinyl, expect Queers: Rocket to Russia and Screeching Weasel: Ramones has been re-released by CD-versions also. Here is taken limited 300 "tour edition" too, with different color vinyls and silkprinted cover from these albums : Vindictives, Queers and Boris The Sprinkler.

I've self got BORIS THE SPRINKLER: End Of The Century and PARASITES: It's Alive (normal and color vinyl) and these were pretty good. Technically these are good and bands has invented some great things and tricks also.
The Parasites has played the It's Alive LP in front of a crowd at Gilman Street. Parasites plays Ramones songs also at live and the first 5 songs were from ITS ALIVE on June 1998.

    OPERATION IVY'S RAMONES-EP

Operation Ivy (Contains present Rancid members) has released Ramones EP which contains Ramones songs:
    1.Cretin Hop
    2.Go Mental
    3.I Wanna Be Sedated
    4.I Don't Care
    5.Chasing The Night
    6.Sheena Is A Punk Rocker.

This 12' EP is one sided and made in Germany, 300 hand numbered. The cover looked just like the Ramones cover of "Rocket To Russia," but instead of Ramones it said Operation Ivy on it.

    OTHER SPECIAL COVER ALBUMS

  • JON COUGAR CONCENTRATION CAMP has covered Too Tough To Die -album.

  • HUNTINGTONS has released ROCKET TO RAMONIA -CD 1000 copies pressed on CD. Released on August 12, 1997 on Lying Fart Records. Mail Order/Concert sales only.
    CD contains these Ramones covers.

    1) Rockaway Beach 2) Teenage Lobotomy 3) Suzy Is A Headbanger 4) Blitzkrieg Bop 5) Oh Oh I Love Her So
    6) Judy Is A Punk 7) I Want You Around 8) Cretin Hop 9) Slug 10) She's The One 11) Beat On The Brat
    12) You're Gonna Kill That Girl 13) Sheena Is A Punk Rocker 14) The KKK Took My Baby Away Rock 'N' Roll High School

Huntingtons has also made another Ramones-tribute CD called File Under Ramones.

  • P.P.M has covered It's Alive -album. This It's Alive is a "copy", word by word of the Ramones It's Alive. Really great, booklet is also "copy" of the original.

Band has also released CD called Punk Rock Sucks, it includes Spanish version of Rock'N'Roll High School. Also there's a limited edition 7" in 1998, in which there is a version of the Ramones Endless Vacation, and a R.A.M.O.N.E.S. cover of Motorhead.

P.P.M comes from Spain, they started their career 1989. Their second CD Novi's Cap was produced by Joey Ramone's friend and The Dictators player Andy Shernoff. P.P.M. has own label called Wild Punk Records

  • THE TIP TOPPERS released cover album of the Ramones album Subterranean Jungle in June 2004. So it was released 20 years after the original came out, and 30 years after the Ramones started. The Tip Toppers sound like a mix of Ramones, Social Distortion and Roky Erickson and this album is dynamite! With members from Yum Yums and Gluecifer etc. Drummer is Ulf Bendiksen who is wellknown among us Ramones hardcore fans. While I was listening this first time, I was surprised how great they're added new elements for these songs, but they really do justice to our heroes. Only 500 copies are made, be sure to get one while you can!

  • THE MORONS is a band from Indonesia. I've known with the singer-guitarist Eko Ramone since 2003 or 2004. The Morons covered the Ramones album Road To Ruin in 2004, they named it to Road To Ramones. I wanted to add these basic infos of it also to my site. Doing the official release in Indonesia isn't so simple because of the financial situation of the most people there... etc., so they did Do-It-Yourself CD-r version.
    - The quality may not be as good as it should, we had to do things with really small budget. We wanted to cover the Ramones album similar way like the Screeching Weasel and the Queers did. We're fans of those bands too. We're Ramones freaks!, told Eko.
    Eko's E-mail is ekoramone@yahoo.com
Also in this release are playing bassist-vocalist Idoeb Dizzy, drummer Sadek P.I.N. and as a additional lead guitarst Asrul.

  • WARDOGS is a band from Treviso, Italy. Wardogs released their Ramones' tribute/ cover album titled Raw & Dirty Days in a big party in Treviso in September 2012.
Album has by Wardogs 20 covers of Ramones songs or songs that also Ramones covered and a song that Joey covered What A Wonderful World.
    - Raw & Dirty Days is our personal tribute to the Ramones and we don't want to try to emulate them (it's impossible!!!). We tried to maintain album raw, explains cool guitarist Sandro Mariuz.
Bonus track is Blitzkrieg Bop and it is a live version from a show that Marky Ramone played with Mariuz etc. under name Marky Ramone & Andead at Palaverde, Treviso, Italy on December 31, 2011. After song ends, it turns to 2012.
Wardogs plays songs with a good spirit, strong sound, kind of studio live energy and after first classics Rockaway Beach, Blitzkrieg Bop, Sheena Is A Punk Rocker, Havana Affair and Commando it comes Main Man from album Mondo Bizarro (1992). A good choice. Vocalist Oscar really has Joey influenced voice and especially in What A Wonderful World Joey's spirit is there.
Thanks from me (Jari-Pekka) to you gentlemen of giving nice thanks in a thanks list on CD sleeve.
Check out Wardogs homepage (there is a store as well) and Facebook site.
