ROCKABILLY TRIBUTE TO THE RAMONES CD (USA)
BACK
A rockabilly tribute to the Ramones was released on September 13, 2005 by
CMH Records (Los Angeles).
Here you can order
it, listen three sample MP3's and read information like:
"Why? I'll tell ya why, kid, it's 'cause this is a rockabilly tribute and
the Ramones and rockabilly have a lot more in common than just a couple o'
letters! Why, they go together like rama-lama-lama-a-ding-a-dy-dingy-dong,
baby! See, in the fifties, when a buncha southern greasers from the sticks
decided that the clompity-clomp rhythm of country just wasn't cuttin' it,
they revved it up like a car running moonshine and rockabilly was born,
causing parents to write congressmen and lock teenagers up in closets. It
was the nastiest sound around! Fast forward to 1974, and you got the
Ramones trying to musically decapitate everyone in sight with their
buzzsaw approach, with much the same results. By combining the two here,
we run the risk of an alchemical reaction that no human can control, but
hey, I think you can handle it, kid."
