Richie Ramone recorded as a guest drummer Rebel 67 EP together
with Canadian punk band The Rock N Roll Rats. EP has five songs written
by Johnny Forgotten. The Rock N Roll Rats planned to release EP in 2012
as a 12' vinyl only with a free download card for MP3s in the

INTERVIEW:
I did this interview in May-June 2012 with Johnny Forgotten who
has been playing in punk rock bands since 1993.
Jari-Pekka Laitio-Ramone: 1) Can you please
tell some background information of the Rock n Roll Rats?
Johnny Forgotten:
The Rock n Roll Rats in a nutshell are an old-skool punk rock band from
the frozen wastelands of Alberta Canada, and we are the most hardcore
shit that there is in this country other than The Forgotten Rebels. Our
bass player Jesse Death drives a hearse as his daily transportation, no
shit. She's a 1993 Buick Hearse, we get razzed all the time because most
funeral coaches are Cadillacs, but The Rock n Roll Rats have a Buick....
The poor mans hearse, fuckin' eh!
The Rock n Roll Rats have played several hundred shows in Canada, some
with our friends like CJ Ramone, The Creepshow, and Deathspot Radio
(LA). Richie Ramone thinks that our dummer (Conor Smith) has drums
"made out of cement" because Conor is a shit brickhouse kind of man.
Jari-Pekka:
2) How you got idea to approach Richie and did you send him Youtube
links, your self-titled (2010) album etc.?
Johnny Forgotten:
One night out of the middle of nowhere I was listening to my favourite
Ramones albums, Too Tough To Die (1984) and Halfway To Sanity (1987) and
I particularly enjoyed the drums. Then it occurred to me, wait,
that's not stupid Marky Ramone, that is Richie Ramone!!!!!!
The Rock N Roll Rats just finished recording a five song EP at this
time. Being the lunatic I am, I sent Richie Ramone a simple E-mail with
our finished songs for the EP asking him if he would like to be the
"guest
drummer" on the record. He agreed and was stoked from the get go. Next
thing we know, we're recording in Calgary Alberta Canada at the
Canadian Ensign Records Studio, and Richie Ramone is recording at his
home studio in Los Angeles California USA.
The Rock N Roll Rats and Richie Ramone began recording for this
exciting release in January 2012. Richie attacks you with a fast and
powerful performance that perfectly matches and compliments The Rock N
Roll Rats.
Jari-Pekka:
3) How much you were training songs and developing new ideas before
doing first recordings?
Johnny Forgotten:
All the songs were written by me (Johnny Forgotten) and performed live
by The Rock n Roll Rats long before we even met Richie Ramone. So to
answer your question, no thought whatsoever was given to Richie when I
wrote the songs and we gigged them on tour hahahah!
They are Rock n Roll Rats songs and it was a riot to record them with
Richie!!!!!!!!!
(Thanks to Johnny Forgotten)
