MARKY RAMONE &
ANTIPRODUCT IN GALWAY, UK ON AUGUST 9, 2005
Copyrightę 2005 -> : Lynne Cameron and Jari-Pekka
I flew from Edinburgh Airport on 8th August 2005 at 9.25 pm to Galway. The
flight was a short one and I arrived in Galway at 10.55 pm. Galway Airport
is a small airport so was able to get a taxi straight away to take me to
my hotel. The next day I took a wander round the town and found the venue
the Roisin Dubh. I met a lot of lovely people and thanks to Adam of Clan
Internet who was very helpful and friendly and chatty. I had lunch in the
town. Later on I went to the venue. About 5pm Marky and Antiproduct
arrived at the venue, and Marky and I said hello.
After all the equipment was set up, Antiproduct began their soundcheck and
I was there watching it. Antiproduct were due to go on stage about 9 pm,
so before their soundcheck I was chatting to Clare of Antiproduct and it
was nice to see her again.
Shortly before the show Antiproduct went and got ready. I took my place
right down at the front of the stage. After their set Marky came on stage
then and it was straight into the first song. Marky introduced each song.
I was right at the front and the atmosphere was electric, it was
wonderful. I was singing my head off and everyone was enjoying
themselves. Antiproduct did a great job backing Marky.
Here are the songs which were performed:
I Don't Care
Sheena is A Punk Rocker
I Just Want To Have Something To Do
Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment
53rd And 3rd
She's The One
Judy Is A Punk
The KKK Took My Baby Away
Rock'N'Roll High School
Beat On The Brat
I Wanna Be Sedated
It was a great show and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The atmosphere was
great and everyone enjoyed themselves. The next day I went back to
Edinburgh. Galway is a lovely place and I enjoyed my stay there.
