ALL MARKY RAMONE & THE SPEEDKINGS SHOWS (2001-2003)

BACK

THERE IS NO ANYMORE MARKY RAMONE & THE SPEEDKINGS BAND, BUT I WANT TO KEEP THESE INFOS HERE AS A RAMONES HISTORY. BAND DID SHOWS IN 2001-2003. SEE BACKGROUND DETAILS OF GROUP HERE.

Marky Ramone wrote to me in January 13, 2004, that there will be no next Marky Ramone & The SpeedKings tour until the new SpeedKings album comes out. Album was already recorded.
BUT two months later (March 13, 2004) Marky Ramone & The SpeedKings announced that the band was split up, even they were recorded an second album. There are no plans to release it... So band released only singles, live album and studio album called No If's, And's Or But's, read more of it here.
One reason to the "first split up" was that Marky can't do so many tours with SpeedKings than SpeedKings would like to.

LINE-UP(S):
Name Marky Ramone Group was used shortly until it got changed to Marky Ramone & The SpeedKings because of legal hassles.
Last Marky Ramone & The SpeedKings line-up:
Marky Ramone, drums.
Nick Cooper: singer-guitarist.
Glen "Jack" Meyer: bassist.

Older members:
- Dee Jaywalker: Who joined in August 2001 as the second guitarist. Dee played both rhythm and lead guitar.
- Bassist: Stevey Jay, who decided to leave from the band November 2001. Then he was replaced by Vito Jr Dagostini.
- Bassist: Vito Jr Dagostini was replaced Glen Meyer in June 2002.

Canada tour was cancelled. The reason for the cancellation of the tour was one of the promotors who did most of the shows suddenly decided to bail out. There was nothing else to do than cancel.
But at first Marky played this show with Sedated members etc.
February 28, 2003, Clifton, NJ, Connections

... and then Marky did spoken word shows in Toronto and Hamilton, Canada. But at least also in Toronto opening bands were: Spoiled Rotten, Revenge Of The Egg People and Sam Lawrence 5. Then there was a 1 hour 45 minute spoken word performance by Marky and after that was an hour set from Hamilton's Ramone Tribute group, aka "Ramonesalive" featuring Jimmy Vapid on vocals, Gord Lewis & Steve Marshall of Teenage Head on guitar and bass, and Marky himself played the drums for this hour performance.
